Great tune from Shotgun Jimmie. He put out a solid record last year called Still Jimmie, which I'm still playing on a regular basis.

Julie Doiron and Attack in Black are on my "Dozen Favourite Records of 2009" list multiple times. Once each for their full-lengths, plus side projects they did during the year. It was a no-brainer I go see the show on Monday, January 18, 2010.
It was Attack in Black’s 4th or 5th show in Winnipeg in the past year-and-a-bit. Since their Halloween show in 2008, they've released one full-length, one split EP, one split 7", Dan Romano's side project with Julie & Fred Squire and started a record label. They played a couple new tracks at the show, so don't look for these guys to slow down.
At about mid-way through the set, they brought up Julie to help sing "I'm a Rock". She didn't hold back, not in the least. They played a few more tunes, but most notably Petty's "Won't Back Down" and a blistering performance of "Cut and Run" (which I had only heard acoustic previously).
Will Kidman from the Constantines backed up Julie on drums and sometimes guitar. The chemistry between her and Will was positive and trusting. One of the highlights to her set, as silly as it may sound, was her and Will's soundcheck. They were playing the Miracles tune "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" to warm up. To hear Julie sing that was pretty powerful.
The rest of the show they played things as crunchy and as hard as Julie's every sounded. She played stuff from her whole catalog, anything anyone requested. I hate to shout requests, but I had to ask for "Heavy Snow" and she didn't disappoint.
But the moment I was waiting for happened. Dan from Attack in Black came on stage to play two songs off the Daniel, Fred & Julie record - "The Runner" and "Dream of Jeannie". There were miscues, as it was the first show for the tour, but inspired none-the-less. Especially on "Dream of Jeannie", it looked like they were ready to give up at one point, but pushed right through it. Julie isn't the type to shy away from a challenge, either. Great show from some of Canada's best artists.
